TFWikiUpload

Python Version

This is a script that uploads entire folders of files to the Team Fortress Wiki from the command line. This is especially useful for projects with large amounts of files, such as paint preview tables, as it is less error-prone and much faster than doing so manually.

This script can also be used on other MediaWiki hosts by changing the location of the API in settings.conf.

Developed and tested on Python 3.8, but should work on any version of Python 3.

Requirements:

Installation:

Usage:

  • Run upload.py. The script will look for files in the upload directory, and then move them to a directory named done once the upload is complete.
    • If the directories do not exist, they will be created by the script.
  • File text is the initial page text for new files.
  • Comment is the upload comment. Also used as the initial page text for new files if text is not specified.
    • For example, Uploaded new painted variants of the item.
